Security has been tightened across the New Delhi district ahead of the monsoon session of Parliament and a proposed protest march. Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita have been imposed in the area, prohibiting assemblies of five or more people, protest marches, or demonstrations, except at the designated protest site with prior permission.
The Delhi Police clarified that no permission has been sought or granted for the proposed march, which was called to protest alleged examination irregularities and demand the resignation of the Union Education Minister. Meanwhile, an activist on a hunger strike has been moved to the hospital on the twenty-first day of the strike.
