A minor dispute between two school students in Gujarat's Ankleshwar spiralled into a violent revenge attack when the family of one student stopped two sisters on their way to tuition and assaulted them with a cricket bat and slippers. The attack took place on July 15 on the FDDI College Road in the Garden City area of Ankleshwar. Police have arrested the alleged main accused couple, while further investigation is underway. Read Full Story According to the complaint and police investigation, sisters Sanskriti and Aakriti, daughters of chemical trader Mukesh Singh Sengar, were riding their Activa to tuition on the afternoon of July 15. The two sisters were allegedly followed by the accused family, who stopped their car in front of their scooter on the road. The family allegedly got out of the car and confronted the sisters over a dispute involving one of their daughters, who studied with them. According to the complaint, the accused family allegedly confronted the sisters, saying, ‘Why do you fight with my daughter?’ The argument soon turned violent.
The accused father allegedly took out a cricket bat from the car and handed it to his daughter, who then allegedly attacked the two sisters with it. The mother and grandmother allegedly beat the girls with slippers. The sisters were allegedly assaulted in the middle of the road as people began gathering at the spot. The accused family allegedly fled in their car after threatening the sisters. Speaking about the attack, Sanskriti alleged that the family stopped them while they were going for tuition after a fight with another student. ‘We were going for tuitions. We had a fight with someone. His father came and he hit us with a car. After that, they started hitting us directly,’ she said. She alleged that the accused father, whom she identified as Deva bhai, attacked them with a bat, hitting them on their head, shoulders and legs. ‘His mother picked up her slippers to hit us,’ Sanskriti alleged.
She also claimed that the family abused her parents and issued threats during the attack. The injured sisters were taken to hospital by their father, following which a complaint was filed at the Ankleshwar GIDC police station. FAMILY HAD ALLEGEDLY FIRST GONE TO SISTERS' HOME During the investigation, police allegedly found that the accused family had first gone to the sisters' home to complain about the school dispute. However, when the girls were not found there, the family allegedly tracked them down on the road and attacked them. Police examined CCTV footage of the incident and took action against the accused. The alleged main accused, Gurudev alias Dev Pritam Jesal, and his wife Bhavna Jesal have been arrested. Police have also seized the four-wheeler allegedly used in the incident and the cricket bat. Police said the investigation is still underway, including into the circumstances that led to the original dispute between the students. ASP Bharuch Ajay Kumar Meena said the investigation was continuing.
