Members of ‘Govindadhamam’, the electric crematorium facility maintained by the civic body in Tirupati, promised to serve the needy by reaching out to them. The facility was jointly launched eight years back by Tirupati Municipal Corporation, with the active support of the Rotary Club of Tirupati, Arya Vysya Association and Veerabahu Society, which played a key role in disposing of bodies during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, a new executive committee of Govindadhamam was sworn in by founder-chairman Damodaram Tenkayala at a brief ceremony on Sunday. The committee consists of Magam Hemachander as its president, S.V.M. Venkatesh as secretary, Narendra Babu as treasurer, K.
Munikrishna as vice-president, Rammohan Reddy as joint secretary and Ramakrishna Reddy as the joint treasurer. Hemachander said Govindadhamam was committed to providing a decent cremation
for all the bodies. Similarly, a new body also took over the committee of the adjoining Sankalpa Siddhi Maha Ganapati temple.
