Two separate clashes between tourists and local residents at different locations in Uttarakhand's Mussoorie have triggered police action, with seven people detained after the disputes escalated into physical fights. The incidents took place in the Hussain Ganj and Picture Palace areas of the popular hill station, creating panic in the area and prompting police teams to reach both spots. In the first incident, a dispute broke out between some tourists and local residents in the Hussain Ganj area. What began as an argument soon turned into a physical fight.
Police reached the spot and detained five people after bringing the situation under control. Police intervened and detained three people in connection with the incident. POLICE TAKE ACTION AGAINST SEVEN PEOPLE Police took legal action against a total of seven people in the two cases for allegedly disturbing peace and law and order in public places. Challans were issued under Section 81 of the Uttarakhand Police Act.
Mussoorie police have appealed to people to maintain law and order in public places and asked residents and tourists to immediately contact the emergency helpline 112 in case of any emergency. Mussoorie Circle Officer Jagdish Pant said challan action had been taken in the matter and further investigation was underway. They have demanded strict action against those involved in such incidents to protect both Mussoorie's image as a tourist destination and its law and order situation.
