Air India Express Chairman Nipun Aggarwal said the airline has already reduced fuel surcharges as aviation fuel prices eased, but stressed that the surcharge alone was never enough to offset the sharp spike in oil prices earlier this year. In an exclusive interview, Aggarwal said airfares are expected to stabilise as fuel costs cool, while the airline prepares for a major fleet expansion with 40–50 aircraft expected annually over the next seven to eight years.
