Shah further reviewed the border security grid at the Jhumagachh Border Outpost in Siliguri, where he inspected surveillance systems and inaugurated Border Security Force infrastructure projects worth Rs 77 crore.
He said the Centre’s “smart border" initiative, aimed at creating a quadrangular security grid using advanced technology, would first be implemented at the grassroots level in West Bengal. The Home Minister will chair a meeting on the law and order situation in West Bengal, which will be followed by the inauguration of the World Museum at the Library in Kolkata on Sunday. He will lay the foundation stone of the world’s largest curd-making facility of Amul Dairy at Sankrail Food Park in the Howrah district from a programme at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata later in the day tomorrow.
