He vowed that Tehran would teach Washington “unforgettable lessons“, accusing the Trump administration of violating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). In a message marking the “historic epic" surrounding the farewell ceremony for the “Martyr of Iran," Khamenei said the violation of a preliminary agreement with Tehran demonstrated that the US President’s signature was “worthless and unreliable," according to Tehran Times. “America’s lying, illogical, untrustworthy, and vile nature revealed", he said. Accusing the US of pursuing coercion, unilateralism, and aggression, the Iranian leader argued that the recent developments had exposed Washington’s “true face" and provided evidence of its unreliability.
He emphasised that preserving national solidarity remains one of the nation’s highest priorities, urging both officials and the public to safeguard unity to protect Iran’s independence and combat external threats, Tehran Times reported. Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, was named the Supreme Leader of Iran after his father and predecessor, Ali Khamenei, was killed on the opening day of the coordinated US-Israeli strikes on February 28. The statement coincides with a renewed confrontation in West Asia as Tehran and Washington continued to exchange strikes, with the control over the Strait of Hormuz emerging as a major sticking point. New Airstrikes To ‘Punish’ Iran The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said Saturday that it was launching fresh airstrikes to “punish" Iran for attacks against the country’s personnel in Jordan, resulting in the death of two service members. In a post on ‘X’, the CENTCOM announced that the strikes were “designed to further degrade Iran’s ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and swiftly punish Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces who launched attacks against American service members in Jordan last night." Today at 6 p.m. ET, U.S. forces began launching new airstrikes against Iran at the Commander in Chief’s direction.
