Image/ANI Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) launched a sharp attack on Lok Sabha’s Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and the Congress government in Telangana during the Yuvajana Sangarama Sadassu, accusing the grand old party of betraying the aspirations of the state’s youth by failing to fulfil its election promises. Addressing a gathering, KTR said Rahul Gandhi failed to understand the concerns of Telangana’s unemployed youth.
“Since you don’t know Telugu, you don’t understand the pain of Telangana’s youth. So I’m speaking to you in a language you understand," he said. Taking aim at Rahul Gandhi’s popular slogan, KTR remarked, “You spoke of a ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukaan’, but for Telangana’s youth it has become a ‘Gaddari Ka Ghar’." The BRS leader questioned the Congress over the promises it made before the 2023 Telangana assembly elections, particularly those announced during Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with job aspirants at Ashok Nagar. He asked what had happened to assurances, including 2 lakh government jobs, an annual Job Calendar, Rs 4,000 monthly unemployment allowance, scooters for women, and Rs 10 lakh interest-free loans for youth. Alleging that the Congress government had failed unemployed youth, KTR claimed that lakhs of job aspirants were still waiting for recruitment notifications while the government was focused on “lootification" instead of job creation.
Recalling that Congress had released its Youth Declaration at the same Saroornagar venue three years ago, KTR said the youth of Telangana had now seen through what he described as the party’s false promises. “The same place where the Congress announced its Youth Declaration has now become the place where Telangana’s youth are ready to write its Death Declaration," KTR said.
