Vaishnavi called her fiance after meeting Sahil and told him, 'Sahil is here, come quickly.' A 20-year-old woman was allegedly murdered in Maharashtra’s Nashik, while the man accused of attacking her was found hanging from a tree just hours later in what police suspect is a murder-suicide case. The victim, identified as Vaishnavi Avare, was allegedly stabbed to death by 26-year-old Sahil Ashok Lavare near a temple in the Indiranagar area late on Friday night. Police said the accused was later found hanging at a jogging track in the same locality during the early hours of Saturday.
According to investigators, Sahil allegedly attacked Vaishnavi with a knife, stabbing her multiple times before slitting her throat. Residents rushed to the spot after hearing her screams, but the accused had already fled by the time they arrived. Police said Vaishnavi died at the scene before she could receive medical treatment. ‘Vaishu Is Finished’: Accused Allegedly Told Fiance Before Death According to reports, Vaishnavi called her fiance after meeting Sahil and told him, “Sahil is here, come quickly." Her fiance immediately left work and rushed to the location, keeping the call connected throughout. He allegedly heard the two arguing for nearly 22 minutes before Sahil took over the phone and said, “Vaishu is finished," indicating that he had killed her, according to a report by NDTV. Police Suspect Murder Followed By Suicide At around 3 AM on Saturday, Sahil’s body was discovered hanging from a tree at the Indiranagar jogging track, around two kilometres from the crime scene.
Police suspect he died by suicide after allegedly murdering Vaishnavi. Officials said Vaishnavi was a student and had been staying as a paying guest in the area. Initial investigations suggested the attack may have been linked to one-sided love. However, further inquiry revealed that Sahil and Vaishnavi had allegedly been in a live-in relationship for nearly two years. According to the preliminary investigation, Sahil allegedly attacked Vaishnavi after she refused to marry him. Police are also trying to determine how he came to know about her plans to marry someone else. A murder case has been registered, and investigators are working to establish the exact sequence of events and motive behind the crime. Further investigation is underway.
