Cyberabad civic body removes 420 footpath encroachments on July 18 in weekly ‘Walk Free’ drive

The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) removed 420 encroachments from footpaths and public spaces across its limits as part of its weekly ‘Walk Free’ initiative conducted on Saturday. The drive covered 15 circles and 16 stretches spanning a total distance of 16.7 km.
In Quthbullapur Zone, enforcement teams covered seven circles and eight stretches over 8.2 km, removing 197 encroachments. The drive was carried out in Chintal, Jeedimetla, Kompally, Gajularamaram, Nizampet, Dundigal and Medchal circles. In Kukatpally Zone, officials removed 67 encroachments during the drive, which covered three circles and three stretches extending 1.5 km.
The operation was conducted in Madhapur, Allwyn Colony and Kukatpally circles. The Serilingampally Zone recorded the removal of 156 encroachments across five circles and five stretches covering 7 km. The drive was undertaken in Narsingi, Patancheru, Ameenpur, Miyapur
and Serilingampally circles. The civic body appealed to shop owners, street vendors, commercial establishments and the public not to encroach upon footpaths and public spaces and to cooperate in maintaining safe and accessible pedestrian infrastructure across the city.
