Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda, has secured a place in the Guinness World Records by organising what the hospital claims as the world’s largest awareness session on Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). A total of 578 participants attended the programme simultaneously, both in person and online, setting a new global record. The awareness initiative was organised to improve public understanding of IBD, encourage early recognition of symptoms and promote timely medical consultation.
The record was officially verified by Guinness World Records adjudicator Rishi Nath, who presented the award to Dr. Kiran Peddi, senior gastroenterologist and Director, Center for IBD, and Dr. S. Prashanth Reddy, Unit Head, Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda. Kiran Peddi said that early diagnosis, appropriate treatment and regular follow-up were essential in managing the chronic condition and said the awareness initiative had equipped patients, caregivers and the public with knowledge to identify symptoms early and seek expert medical care.
Pavan Gorukanti, Director, Yashoda Hospitals, said the achievement demonstrated the institution’s commitment not only to clinical excellence but also to public health awareness. Congratulating the hospital, Guinness World Records
adjudicator Rishi Nath said the programme had gone beyond setting a world record by educating hundreds of people about inflammatory bowel disease and strengthening public awareness of the condition.
