Tirupati workshop prepares students for future in quantum technologies

Science City of Andhra Pradesh and Amaravati Quantum Valley under RUSA Phase-II at SVU-QAIC jointly organised a workshop on quantum technologies in Tirupati on Saturday. The workshop is aimed at preparing the students, faculty, and research scholars of Andhra Pradesh to participate in the next technological revolution. During a workshop at Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Advisor to Amaravati Quantum Valley, Venkataswamy Tadikonda, urged students to draw upon India’s rich heritage and awareness of nature for quantum research.
He explained quantum concepts such as superposition, interference, entanglement, quantum tunnelling, and the double-slit experiment. Tadikonda also touched upon Grover’s algorithm, the emerging quantum threat to classical cryptography, and the growing role of quantum sensors in modern technology. He noted that India aims to emerge as a global leader in quantum technology through the Quantum Mission, and outlined both the opportunities and challenges facing Amaravati
Quantum Valley. Currently helping define a portfolio of over a thousand real-world quantum use cases, the Quantum Valley Advisor encouraged students to study existing use cases in classical computing and develop quantum algorithms to solve them, stressing why quantum technology matters not just in principle, but also for the future of A.P. He further highlighted the growing job opportunities in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Migration Strategy
During the workshop held simultaneously at Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Tirupati, Science City of A.P. CEO Vekateswarlu Kesineni highlighted the importance of organising hackathons that provide students with real-world problem statements and encourage them to develop innovative solutions. He motivated students with the slogan “Learn to Do, Learn Through Fun” and encouraged them to participate in initiatives such as the South India Rocket Challenge.
