(CMO) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has welcomed a series of decisions taken by the Union Cabinet, describing them as historic measures that will promote infrastructure, industrial growth, employment and agriculture across the country. In a post on X, the Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the Cabinet’s approval of several key initiatives, including the Ganga (6-lane Greenfield) and Varuna (6/4-lane) Elevated Corridor Projects in Varanasi, estimated to cost ₹25,446 crore. ‘Visionary Leadership’ Of PM Modi Calling the Cabinet decisions a reflection of the Prime Minister’s visionary leadership, Yogi Adityanath said the approval of the Varanasi elevated corridors was a true example of the government’s commitment to “Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi" (heritage along with development).
He said the projects would improve connectivity in Varanasi while preserving the city’s cultural significance and supporting its long-term development. MPMS To Boost Investment And Jobs The Chief Minister also welcomed the approval of the Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS), which has been allocated ₹62,500 crore for the period from 2026-27 to 2030-31. According to Yogi Adityanath, the scheme will strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem by increasing domestic value addition, generating around 60,000 direct jobs and supporting mobile phone production worth nearly ₹39 lakh crore. He noted that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a major electronics and mobile manufacturing hub and said the scheme would further accelerate investment, employment and industrial growth in the state. ‘Semicon 2.0’ To Strengthen India’s Chip Ecosystem Yogi Adityanath also praised the Cabinet’s approval of ‘Semicon 2.0’, a programme with an outlay of ₹1.27 lakh crore aimed at expanding India’s semiconductor industry. He said the initiative would support chip design, advanced manufacturing, research and development, skill development and semiconductor infrastructure. According to the Chief Minister, the programme would strengthen India’s technological capabilities and contribute to the vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’.
