Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace launched Vikram-1, India's first privately developed rocket, to complete an orbital mission. Named Mission Aagaman, the rocket lifted off from Sriharikota at 12:05 PM, marking the first time a private Indian company placed an orbital rocket in space. The mission is designed to validate critical steps of an orbital flight, including propulsion, guidance, navigation, stage separation, and flight performance.
Vikram-1 is built to deploy customer payloads of up to 350 kilograms into a 450-kilometer Low Earth orbit. This launch strengthens India's position in the global commercial space market and supports the country's goal of expanding its space economy.
