This, they hope, will make education administration in the state more transparent, accountable, and result-oriented. Under this plan, a state-wide campaign is being conducted for current academic session to carry out student profile progression and new enrolments on the U-DISE Plus portal. The objective of this plan is also ensure that benefits of education-related schemes reach every student timely.
The U-DISE Plus, as per a press release issued by the UP government, has been developed as more than just a data portal. The government said it should serve as a foundation for effective planning and management of school education. To that end, the government has asked schools to update the details of every student, newly admitted to their school, on the portal. The Director General of School Education, in UP government, has asked all District Inspectors of Schools (DIOS), Basic Shiksha Adhikaris (BSA), Block Education Officers to complete the work of profile updates within the set timeline. The progress, in fact, has been rapid so far, the release stated. Currently, 97.14 percent of this work has been completed. The Basic Education Department has achieved 98.98 percent progress and the Secondary Education Department has recorded 94.33 percent progress, the presser informed. Now, the government is pressing for the remaining work to be completed across the state soon.
The link for the information updates of all newly admitted students at the pre-primary and first standard level has also been activated. The Director General has asked all districts to immediately upload their details. This will ensure the availability of an updated digital database of students from the very beginning of the academic session and enable them to receive the benefits of various educational schemes, scholarships and other facilities in a timely manner.
