Raichur MP urges corporate houses to be active in CSR activities
G. Kumar Naik, Raichur MP, said that comprehensive development of the district requires not only Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds but also the expertise, experience
G. Kumar Naik, Raichur MP, said that comprehensive development of the district requires not only Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds but also the expertise, experience, and technical knowledge of various companies, as well as long-term partnerships in society. He was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the Raichur Impact Summit 2026, a district-level CSR conference at Navodaya Technical College in Raichur on Saturday (July 18). “The district’s comprehensive development is dependent on the involvement of the companies’ representatives, society, private organisations and the public.
Companies should send their representatives and experts to the district to study local requirements and demands while releasing the grant under the CSR fund. The district simultaneously requires active participation, along with adequate grants for overall development,” Mr. Naik said. He also said that development in major sectors like education, dairy farming, health and infrastructure, implemented successfully in various States, should be achieved in Raichur district too. “Infrastructure development shouldn’t be confined to only the construction of buildings, but also expand to ensure quality education that takes the education sector towards development and produces skilled human resources.
The district doesn’t only need a grant but also your skill, experience and long-term participation for comprehensive growth,” the MP said. Deputy Commissioner Poovitha S. said that the CSR grant must properly be used for development, as the district was recognised as one among backward districts. Raichur Zilla Panchayat CEO Eshwar Kumar Kandoo highlighted sector-wise backwardness, stating that the district has been facing challenges in various sectors that effectively need to be addressed to ensure development. Mahanagar Palike Commissioner Jubin Mohapatra compared the district with other developed districts where the lion’s share of the CSR fund was utilised.
“The social impact would automatically increase if more CSR grants were invested in backward districts like Raichur,” he added. The district administration exhibited a video highlighting the district’s historical and cultural richness for representatives of the various companies. Appreciation letters were given to participants and companies’ representatives at the event.
