An investigation in Madhya Pradesh reveals that several approved B.Ed colleges exist only on paper. At locations where colleges like Shriram B.Ed College, Millennium College, and Baglamukhi College are registered, buildings are locked, empty, or used for other purposes, with buffaloes grazing on the land. University inspection reports flagged irregularities, including colleges operating from unregistered addresses and lacking proper infrastructure.
Despite these deficiencies, 125 private colleges received conditional approval after submitting notarised affidavits. In response to these findings, the state minister has promised another inquiry and warned of action against institutions that provided false information in their affidavits.
