The Union Home Minister has commenced a three-day visit to West Bengal, marking a maiden visit to North Bengal since the new state government assumed power. The visit began with a review of the security situation at a Border Security Force outpost in Siliguri along the Indo-Bangladesh border. A meeting was held at the state secretariat in North Bengal, attended by the West Bengal Chief Minister, the Director General of Police, and senior state and central officials.
The discussions focused on border infiltration, illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators, and the state's law and order situation. Additionally, the implementation of new laws in the state was discussed, with further meetings and inaugurations scheduled.
