Days after increasing AppleCare+ subscription prices for Macs and iPads, Apple has now made its music streaming service more expensive. The company has raised Apple Music subscription prices in India, along with Apple One plans, meaning users will now have to pay more for the Individual, Family and Student memberships. Apple has rolled out revised subscription prices across the US, the UK, Europe and several other markets. The new prices are already in effect. Apple Music gets more expensive in India The biggest change is for Apple Music subscribers. The Individual plan now costs Rs 139 per month, up from Rs 119 earlier.
The Family plan has seen the steepest increase, jumping from Rs 179 to Rs 229 per month. Meanwhile, the Student plan now costs Rs 69 per month, compared to Rs 59 previously. The revised prices are already live on Apple's website. Apple says the higher prices are due to rising music licensing costs. Apart from the revised pricing, there are no new features or benefits for subscribers. What each Apple Music plan offers in India The Individual plan priced at Rs 139/month)gives a single user access to Apple's catalogue of more than 100 million songs. Subscribers get ad-free listening, offline downloads, Spatial Audio, Lossless Audio, curated playlists, Apple Music Classical, and support across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android phones, Windows PCs and compatible smart TVs.
The Family plan for Rs 229 per month includes everything offered in the Individual plan and allows up to six family members to access Apple Music through Family Sharing. Each member gets their own music library, personalised recommendations and playlists. The Student plan which is priced for Rs 69 per month is available to verified college and university students. It includes all the features of the Individual plan and also bundles Apple TV+ at no additional cost, making it the most affordable option for eligible students. Apple One plans become more expensive too Apple has also increased the prices of its Apple One bundles in India, which combine multiple Apple services under a single subscription.
The Individual plan now costs Rs 195 per month, up from Rs 175. The Family plan has increased from Rs 235 to Rs 295 per month, while the Premier plan now costs Rs 995 instead of Rs 899. Depending on the plan, Apple One bundles services such as Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, iCloud+, Apple Fitness+ and Apple News+ (where available). Apple isn't the only company raising the prices of its streaming services. Earlier this year, Spotify also increased subscription prices in several markets, including the US, with its Individual and Family plans becoming more expensive. Ends
