(Photo: X) In a shocking incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, a 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death following an argument with a group of people amid Eid celebrations. Police have arrested three accused and are currently locating two more suspects in connection with the murder. Surya Chauhan, a Class 11 student from Navneet Vihar Colony in Khoda, was admitted to a local hospital with stab wounds on May 28 and later referred to a private hospital in Noida, where he succumbed to his injuries. His family members alleged that he was asked to come to a meeting spot, where an argument broke out with the accused. Despite running to save his life, Surya’s assailants caught up with him and stabbed him with knives. After being alerted, police personnel rushed the injured teenager to a hospital, where he died.

He was asked if he had ever seen a goat being slaughtered, to which he replied no. Then my child was stabbed," she told news agency ANI, demanding justice. Sunita, the victim’s aunt, said, “On the day of Bakra Eid, my child was called from home by deceit. Then he was asked how a goat is slaughtered. What do Hindu children know about such things? Our children have never seen bloodshed. What would they say? They would say they had never seen it. Then he was stabbed in the stomach, and his life ended there." ACP (Indirapuram) Abhishek Srivastava said three of the five accused, and efforts are underway to arrest the remaining two suspects.
He said the exact motive behind the murder was unclear and an investigation is underway. BSP Protests, Govt Assures Action The incident assumed a political tone after Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Saturday expressed concern over the murder. She termed the incident “extremely tragic and alarming" and stressed the need for preventive steps by the administration. “There is a need for the government and administration to take appropriate steps to prevent such incidents that are happening daily. If there are any accused in this matter, legal action will be taken against them," he told reporters.
“Whoever the murderer may be, he will not be spared. He will be traced and found, and strict legal action will be taken to ensure that the person responsible for the murder is punished according to the law, including capital punishment where applicable. The government is very serious about law and order, and those involved in such crimes will face the strictest possible legal action," he added.
