A theft accused lodged in jail pulled off a dramatic escape from Bihar's Nawada Sadar Hospital after outsmarting police personnel and jail security staff while undergoing treatment. The entire incident was captured on the hospital's CCTV cameras, once again raising serious questions over security arrangements at the government hospital. The escaped prisoner has been identified as Bunty Asgar Malik, son of Alauddin Malik, a resident of the Dhamoul police station area.
He is an accused who had been arrested in a theft case before being sent to jail just two days ago. Read Full Story According to police, Malik was admitted to Nawada Sadar Hospital after his health deteriorated in custody. At around 4:50 pm on July 17, he allegedly seized an opportunity amid the rush inside the emergency ward and fled from the hospital.
CCTV footage reportedly shows the prisoner sprinting out of the emergency ward while a constable assigned to guard him chases from behind. Despite the pursuit, the accused managed to evade the security personnel and escaped from the hospital premises. Police have launched raids at multiple locations to trace and arrest the fugitive. This is not the first such incident at Nawada Sadar Hospital.
