Enrol in SIR to get guarantee benefits in Karnataka, says Congress leader
Anjali Nimbalkar, former MLA and Congress leader, has appealed to all eligible voters to get themselves enrolled in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls
Anjali Nimbalkar, former MLA and Congress leader, has appealed to all eligible voters to get themselves enrolled in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Karnataka by the ECI to get benefits of government guarantee schemes. โIt may become difficult to get guarantee benefits if your name does not figure in the revised electoral rolls after SIR,โ she said while addressing a press meet in Belagavi on July 17 after being appointed as the Congress party's in-charge of SIR process for Kittur Karnataka region.
She alleged that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre is trying to take away citizenship rights of eligible voters in the name of SIR. She said that a vigilant citizenry could protect its rights by coordinating with officers and seeking assistance from Booth Level Agents, if needed. Later, she chaired a meeting at the Belagavi DCC office with district unit President Vinay Navalgatti and Block Presidents to review the process of party workers working as BLAs.
"The voter list digitisation process is about 60-70% complete. Senior officers have given instructions to complete the remaining 30% work soon,โ she said. โThose whose names are not mapped in the
voter list should immediately fill in 'Form No. 6' and add their names. Applications can be submitted at the block level or in the tahsildar's office,โ she told party workers and BLAs.
