भारत मौसम विभाग (IMD) ने 17 जुलाई को उत्तर प्रदेश, बिहार, हिमाचल प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड समेत देश के 17 राज्यों में हल्की से भारी बारिश का अलर्ट जारी किया है। मौसम विभाग के अनुसार, कई इलाकों में 40 से 80 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से तेज हवाएं चल सकती हैं और बिजली गिरने की भी आशंका है। दरअसल, उत्तर-पश्चिम बंगाल की खाड़ी और उससे सटे ओडिशा-पश्चिम बंगाल तट पर बना कम दबाव का क्षेत्र अब और मजबूत होकर सुस्पष्ट लो प्रेशर एरिया में बदल गया है। इसके अगले दो दिनों में उत्तर ओडिशा और गंगा के मैदानी पश्चिम बंगाल की ओर बढ़ने की संभावना है, जिसके चलते पूर्वी, पूर्वोत्तर और पश्चिमी हिमालयी राज्यों में बारिश की गतिविधियां तेज हो सकती हैं।
