Twisha Sharma Death Case: What began as a suspected suicide case in Bhopal has now spiralled into a controversy involving allegations of influence, legal pressure and possible evidence tampering. The latest and most explosive development in the Twisha Sharma death case emerged after the call detail records of former district judge Giribala Singh surfaced, triggering fresh suspicion from the victim’s family. According to the records, on May 13, just a day after Twisha’s death, Giribala Singh, who is also Twisha’s mother-in-law, allegedly made several urgent calls to senior judicial officials. CCTV Technicians Contacted After Death The call records, as reported by News18 Hindi, have added another layer of controversy because they reportedly include contact with two CCTV technicians – Vinod Vani and Rohit Vishwakarma – who were responsible for installing and maintaining the surveillance cameras at the residence. Twisha’s family had earlier alleged that CCTV footage connected to the case may have been tampered with. Following the emergence of these calls, their suspicions have intensified further. Family members now claim the sequence of calls raises serious questions about what happened immediately after Twisha’s death and whether any evidence may have been altered. Family Meets CM Mohan Yadav, Demands CBI Probe Amid growing outrage, Twisha Sharma’s family met Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav and demanded that the investigation be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The family reportedly told the Chief Minister that they no longer have confidence in the local police investigation and believe justice may not be possible if the probe remains with the city police. They have also written to Governor Mangubhai Patel, requesting the removal of Giribala Singh from her current role as President of the District Consumer Commission, Bhopal Bench-2. Main Accused Samarth Singh Still Missing Meanwhile, Samarth Singh, Twisha’s husband and the main accused in the FIR, remains absconding. In an effort to intensify the search operation, the police commissioner has increased the reward for information leading to his arrest from Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000. A local Bhopal court has also taken a stern position and directed Samarth Singh to appear before the court by May 23. Court Rejects Plea For Second Post-Mortem The victim’s family, however, faced a setback in court after their request for a second post-mortem examination was rejected. Judicial Magistrate Anudita Gupta observed that the first post-mortem conducted at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhopal (AIIMS Bhopal) had been carried out properly and included videography documentation. The court further stated that it did not have the authority to order a second post-mortem at AIIMS Delhi or in another state. Court Orders Preservation Of Evidence Although the plea for another post-mortem was denied, the court instructed the officer in-charge of Katara Hills police station to ensure that all evidence and the body are preserved carefully. The direction comes amid mounting allegations from the family regarding possible interference in the investigation and concerns surrounding the handling of evidence.
