Steps in place to ensure uninterrupted sand supply: Minister

• Mines and Geology Minister Kollu Ravindra on Thursday said that all steps are in place to ensure that the people are not put to any inconvenience in the supply of sand.
• Mr Ravindra, who also holds the Excise portfolio, said that officials have been instructed to eradicate the manufacture of illicit and country-made liquor.
• The Minister conducted a review meeting of the Mines and Excise department officials on Thursday at the Collectorate.
• Speaking to media after the meeting, he said that the government is implementing ‘Free Sand Policy’ to ensure easy access to sand.
• “Though the government is incurring a annual revenue loss of ₹300 crores, measures are in place to ensure there is no difficulty in accessing sand,” he said.
