In an interview on India Today's Super Six, Congress leader Praveen Chakravarthy discussed the party's return to power in Tamil Nadu after nearly six decades through its alliance with the TVK.
Addressing the delay in achieving this milestone, Chakravarthy noted the party's goodwill in the state and emphasized the need for structural reform within the Tamil Nadu Congress.
He stated, "We can't continue to expect allies or play second fiddle." Chakravarthy revealed that on the day the election results were announced, Rahul Gandhi called Chief Minister Vijay to congratulate him, during which Vijay requested Congress's support.
He also mentioned backdoor machinations between the DMK and AIADMK to prevent the TVK from forming the government.
Acknowledging the Congress's current position with just five MLAs, he viewed it as a starting point for growth.
