Bihar cabinet approves ₹10.40 cr VGF to operate direct flight between Gaya Ji-Bangkok

• With a view to strengthening international air connectivity and boosting religious tourism, the Bihar cabinet on Wednesday (May 20, 2026) approved ₹10.40 crore as Viability Gap Funding (VGF) to operate direct flights between Gaya Ji and Bangkok.
• The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary.
• A total of 13 agendas were approved at the meeting.
• “With a view to increasing the air connectivity on new international routes in Bihar, the cabinet has approved a Civil Aviation Department’s proposal to start non-stop air service on the international route between Gaya Ji and Bangkok.
• M/s InterGlobe Aviation Limited (Indigo Airlines) has been selected on a nomination basis to operate flight service between the two cities,” Cabinet Secretariat Department’s Additional Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar Chaudhary said in a post-cabinet briefing.
