IT-based skill training launched for inmates at Visakhapatnam Central Jail

• The Andhra Pradesh Prisons Department, in collaboration with the Skill Development Institute (SDI), Visakhapatnam, launched an IT-based skill development course titled “Office Assistant” at the Visakhapatnam Central Jail on Thursday.
• The programme was inaugurated by Visakhapatnam District Collector M.
• Abhishikth Kishore.
• The initiative aims to equip inmates with industry-oriented IT and office management skills as part of their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
• Officials said that the first batch would comprise of 30 inmates, primarily remand prisoners, with particular focus on young inmates involved in NDPS-related cases.
