The case witnessed major developments on Friday after the Madhya Pradesh High Court directed a second postmortem examination by a specialised team from AIIMS, Delhi.

On the same day, Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh withdrew his anticipatory bail plea, while his mother, retired judge Giribala Singh, was issued a notice seeking cancellation of her bail due to alleged non-cooperation with investigators. Samarth Singh, arrested in connection with the case, was brought to Bhopal early Saturday and later remanded to seven days of police custody. Police sources said Singh, a lawyer and son of Giribala Singh, arrived at the Katara Hills police station around 2 am. Twisha, originally from Noida, was found hanging at her matrimonial home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills locality on May 12. While her in-laws have claimed she was battling drug addiction, her family has alleged sustained dowry harassment pushed her to death.
