Israeli forces have demolished a multi-storey residential building in the occupied East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Al-Tur, saying it was built without a permit. But across the occupied West Bank, Palestinians are facing a wider escalation of Israeli military raids, settler attacks and pressure on their land. Near Ramallah, settlers have been attacking and intimidating Palestinians, while a road used by local residents is facing possible confiscation to facilitate movement between Israeli settlements.

The escalation has also intensified during the olive harvest, with Palestinian farmers in areas near Nablus facing attacks by Israeli settlers as they try to reach their land. In Aqrabah village, some Palestinians were reportedly shot with live ammunition while settlers assaulted farmers picking olives. Israeli forces have also raided several areas of the West Bank, detaining at least seven Palestinians and closing entrances to the town of Bani Na'im near Hebron.

The developments are taking place ahead of Israeli elections, with settler activity, land seizures and pressure on Palestinians becoming increasingly prominent. Al Jazeera's Nida Ibrahim
