Students holding banners supporting re-exam for NEET (PTI) The Indian Air Force (IAF) will provide logistical support for the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, with aircraft set to transport examination packets from 18 locations across the country, a top defence source told CNN-News18. According to the source, the IAF has been tasked with carrying the question paper packets to facilitate the smooth conduct of the nationwide medical entrance examination, which is being held again after the original test was cancelled amid allegations of a paper leak.
The source added that the armed forces are prepared to provide any further assistance required by the authorities for the successful conduct of the examination. The logistical arrangements come as preparations gather pace for the re-examination, which will be conducted by the Testing Agency (NTA) on June 21. On Sunday, the NTA released the exam city intimation slips for candidates appearing in the NEET-UG 2026 re-test. The agency informed students that they can access details of their allotted examination city by logging in with their application number and password. In a public notice, the NTA said the examination will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode from 2 pm to 5.15 pm. The re-examination is scheduled to take place across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. The agency clarified that the exam city intimation slip is not the admit card and has been issued only to inform candidates about the city in which their examination centre will be located.
“This is NOT the Admit Card. It shows only your exam city. The Admit Card will be issued later," the NTA said. The agency also said efforts had been made to allot candidates their preferred examination centres. “All efforts are made by the NTA to give 1st choice city to all students," it said. Candidates have been advised to regularly visit the NTA’s official websites for updates regarding admit cards and other examination-related announcements. The NEET-UG 2026 examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses was originally conducted on May 3. However, the NTA cancelled the examination on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak. The matter is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), with the June 21 re-examination being conducted as part of efforts to ensure a fair and transparent process for aspirants.
