The CPI(M) staged a protest outside the Mandal Revenue Office (MRO) in Chinagadili, demanding houses, house sites and pattas for eligible homeless persons. The protesters also sought registration of pattas, correction of measurement errors and regularisation of eligible landholdings.
CPI(M) district secretariat member R.K.S.V. Kumar said beneficiaries under TIDCO and Jagananna housing schemes have yet to receive completed houses, even though some beneficiaries had paid their contribution. He sought implementation of the TDP-led coalition’s election promise to allot two cents of land in the city to eligible homeless individuals and construct houses for them.
The protesters submitted a representation and applications to the Deputy Tahsildar Kalyan Varma. The CPI(M) also sought allotment of TIDCO and Hudhud houses to local
beneficiaries.
