A devastating flash flood and landslide along the Nepal-China border has killed at least 160 people, with Nepali police recovering 157 bodies and China reporting three deaths in Tibet. The disaster has left 403 travellers missing in Nepal, including 341 foreigners, according to Nepal’s Tourism Board.
At least 133 from India, many of them Kailash Mansarovar pilgrims, are among those missing. The Isha Foundation has separately said 77 of its members at an immigration centre remain unaccounted for. Experts studying satellite imagery believe a large section of a glacier may have collapsed, triggering an ice-and-rock avalanche.
A possible earthquake that struck minutes before the disaster is also being investigated. n18oc_breaking-news CNN-News18 is your trusted source for breaking news, updates, and in-depth analysis from around the world.
