Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) plans to launch 5G services in Andhra Pradesh in the next five to six months, BSNL Andhra Pradesh Circle Chief General Manager M. Seshachalam said while addressing a press conference on Friday. He said that 5G testing trails were already producing positive results and expressed confidence that the service would be rolled out as planned. The company was also simultaneously expanding its 4G network and strengthening digital connectivity across the State, he said.
On the occasion of Independence Day, on behalf of BSNL he announced several special offers for customers. Under the Freedom 20 mobile offer, customers will receive 1GB data and 100 SMS per day, along with unlimited voice calls, for 24 days. The ₹1,111 monthly Fiber Freedom plan offers speeds of up to 200 Mbps, 5,000 GB data and access to more than 25 OTT platforms. New customers opting for the ₹499 Fiber Basic plan will get the first calendar month free and a ₹100 monthly discount for three months.
Seshachalam said BSNL had around one lakh 4G towers nationally, including about 6,850 towers and 15,000 BTSs in the State. Under the Saturation Project, 1,359 towers had been established to provide 4G services to 2,641 remote villages. He shared that BSNL had set a revenue target of ₹1,400 crore for the AP Circle in the current financial year. Nationally, the company earned around ₹24,500 crore last year and entered operational profit.
It has set a target of ₹30,000 crore for the current fiscal. The Chief General Manager said that BSNL was also expanding satellite phone, Entertainment TV, e-SIM and enterprise services, besides creating franchise and partnership opportunities for youth.
