In a statement issued on Monday, the Republic of Balochistan urged Baloch communities to observe the day with national unity and appealed to the international community to recognise what it described as an independent and sovereign Balochistan. The development comes as claims of an independent “Republic of Balochistan" continue to circulate widely on social media. However, Pakistan has not issued any official statement directly addressing the declaration. Pakistan silent Despite the growing attention around the announcement, the Pakistani government has not made any official statement specifically responding to the viral declaration.
Pakistan has, however, consistently maintained its long-standing position that Balochistan is an integral part of the country. According to media reports, Islamabad has repeatedly rejected declarations of Balochistan’s independence and has said it will not allow the province to secede. The absence of a fresh public response has prompted questions over why Pakistan has remained silent while the Baloch movement seeks to draw international attention to its campaign. Why might Pakistan be silent? One possible explanation is that Islamabad may be trying to avoid giving greater visibility to the declaration. A strong official response could amplify the campaign and attract wider international attention. By remaining silent, Pakistan may be attempting to prevent the issue from gaining further publicity.
