As part of Operation Muskaan, the Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) registered 24 cases under the Juvenile Justice Act and child labour laws across the Commissionerate limits between July 18 and July 24. During the operation, officials rescued 127 children, including 122 boys and five girls. Meanwhile, during the same period fifteen individuals indulging in indecent acts at public places were apprehended by the Cyberabad SHE Teams during 118 decoy operations.
According to the weekly report released by the Women and Child Safety Wing, 11 petty cases were registered against those apprehended, while the remaining individuals were counselled. The SHE Teams also received 20 complaints from women through various channels during the week. The Family Counselling Centres and Centre for Domestic and Emotional Wellbeing (CDEW) facilitated the reunion of 23 families involved in marital disputes during the week.
The wing also carried out awareness programmes across various locations in the Cyberabad commissionerate, reaching around 3,493 participants. The sessions focused on issues including human trafficking, child trafficking, eve teasing, social media harassment, child marriages, child rights,
child labour, stalking, begging, cyberbullying and cyber frauds. Participants were also educated about emergency and support services, including the Women Helpline (181), Child Helpline (1098), emergency response numbers 100 and 112, and the Cyber Crime Helpline (1930).
